Sornid’s Poly-silicon Project Moving Forward |

By (Jiang Yi-Ping, Grand Reporter Chao Hong-wei), a few days ago, with a total investment of 500 million U.S. dollars, Jiujiang’s first PV Corporation, Jiangxi Sornid High-Tech Co., Ltd, the second batch of their 60 million US dollar production equipments purchased from Europe and United States last year had arrived, it’s now going through some testing and installation. This batch of equipments is primarily silicon ingot wire saws; it will be installed in the 2nd production workshop. Earlier this year, the first batch of poly-silicon furnace and air-conditioning ventilation equipments already arrived, and it’s been installed and tested in the 1st production workshop.
Jiujiang reporter saw the ongoing pipeline construction, and site formation at Sornid’s poly-silicon project construction site in the Export Processing Zone. The exterior wall coating has entered the final stage, the plant is in full swing, testing and installing equipments days and nights. The first phase of the production water supply and land is basically completed. The person who’s in charge of the project said: "We are now doing two days’ work in one day."
Jiangxi Sornid Hi-Tech Co., Ltd settled in Jiujiang Development Zone in 2008, it’s currently one of the largest PV corporations in Jiangxi. The plan is to invest 500 million U.S. dollars. Right now, the company has already completed the first two of three production plants with a total of 20,000 square meters, and a technology center with 1650 square meters. The production equipments it’s been installed and tested in 1st, and 2nd workshop, trying to put the first phase of 200 MW production lines to work by the end of March. The project focuses on the development of poly-silicon ingots and poly-silicon wafers, plans to complete the construction of the entire project in two to three years, to build the first PV Corporation in Jiujiang and gather other corporations in the PV industry to form a PV Industrial Park.
